The firm's founder, Jack F. Shorstein, began the practice of public accounting in 1959 in Jacksonville. Jack was joined by his brother Bud in 1963. Since that time, audit clients have included manufacturers, wholesalers, self-insurance funds, non-profit organizations, retirement plans, investment pools, and the City of Jacksonville. The firm's tax, accounting and consulting clients are representative of a variety of different professions and businesses, from medicine and law to restaurants and manufacturing. Among other services, the firm also provides trust and estate tax planning, charitable gift planning, and business succession planning.


The firm participates in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants peer review program for our accounting and auditing practice, and has consistently received opinions with the highest peer review rating.


We currently have twenty-two staff members, including sixteen certified public accountants. The firm's principals actively participate in community and charitable organizations.
